Starting October 16th at Parnassus, Mission Bay and Mount Zion campuses we will be offering 3 different varieties of apples from Coke Farms. Coke Farms is located down in San Juan Bautista and has been growing organic fruits and vegetables since 1981.
Fuji: This apple was cultivated in Japan. It originated as a cross between two American apple varieties – the Red Delicious and old Virginia Ralls Genet. They are crisp and have a sweet and tart flavor.
Jonagold: A cross between the crisp Golden Delicious and the blush-crimson Jonathan. They form a sweet fruit with a thin skin.
Braeburn: These apples were originally cultivated in New Zealand and are named after the first orchid. They have a combination of sweet and tart flavor.
