We will accept 5 dietetic interns for the 2025 - 2026 year. The internship will occur from 8/4/2025 to 6/5/2026.
1. Submit an online application through the online Dietetics Inclusive Centralized Application System (DICAS)
DICAS Portal: http://dicas.liaisoncas.com
The DICAS portal will be available August 5, 2024.
Please complete the on-line application by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on January 15, 2025.
The fee to use DICAS is $50 for the first DI program application and $25 for each additional DI program application.
- Complete the standard program application which includes:
- Applicant information: Contact, personal, and background information
- Educational information: Colleges attended, coursework; DPD contact information and verification statement; official transcripts
- Additional information, including work/volunteer experience, awards, licenses, and your resume.
- Enter the names and contact information for three references.
2. Program specific requirements within DICAS:
- Personal statement (1000 words or less) that answers the following questions:
- Describe why you want to be a dietitian.
- Describe the impact do you hope to have on the dietetics profession.
- Describe how your experiences demonstrate the qualities, skills, and values that you a make you a successful dietetic intern.
- Answer onesupplemental questions within DICAS:
- Tell us about one of your proudest professional or personal accomplishments.
2. Submit $50 application fee.
Send a $50 application fee as a check or money order payable to UC Regents. We are not able to accept other forms of payment. This fee is non-refundable.
Please mail your payment to the address below. Checks must be postmarked by January 15, 2025.

3. Interviews for selected applicants.
Panel interviews with top candidates will be held in early February. Applicants selected to be interviewed will be notified and given scheduling instructions for determining interview time.
Interviews will be conducted via Zoom; the panel will consist of the DI Director, the Director of Nutrition Services, and 3 - 4 current preceptors.
4. Applicant notification and acceptance
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance status by March 1st. Applicants should accept their placement by March 15th.
